President of the Supreme Court of Alabama desperate to block gay marriage
Update: Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore orders ban on same-sex marriage , Fierce opponent of gay marriage, Roy Moore demanded family judges to grant no marriage license binder of same-sex individuals.
Driven by Barack Obama, last June legalization of gay marriage by the Supreme Court of the United States has apparently not deterred her Roy Moore. Fierce opponent of the new law, the judge issued an administrative order Wednesday to prohibit its use in the state of Alabama.
“Until a new decision of the Supreme Court of Alabama, the existing order of the Supreme Court of Alabama-according to which the family affairs judges have a duty not to issue a marriage license contrary to the amendment on the sacred bonds of marriage in Alabama and the Alabama law on protection of marriage remain in full force and effect “could be read on the prescription.
As way of argument, Mr. Moore has just said that the federal decision has meant that accentuate “confusion and uncertainty” in the family judges. According to him, some of them would apply the federal decision while others would refuse. He also added that his decision was not unlawful, referring to states of Nebraska and Texas that have challenged the federal decision in court.
